Heating and Cooling, Repaired or Replaced
Our work is done under WA Contractor Registration #KDHEAHA757JA, and it covers furnace repair, AC repair, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits and full system replacements. New installations come with up to 3 years of labor coverage from us. We also register your manufacturer warranty for you, Trane 10-year parts or Midea 12-year parts, so the paperwork is done before we leave. Maintenance plans, emergency HVAC repair, commercial HVAC and new construction HVAC round out what we do.

AC Repair
We trace warm air, short cycling and frozen lines to the part that actually failed, then fix it with a written quote and a full performance test.

Furnace Repair
Diagnosis and repair for gas, propane and electric furnaces, with a written quote before any work and no extra fee for nights or weekends.

AC Installation
New central air conditioning sized by load calculation, set on a level pad, permitted and inspected, with a free estimate and a written quote first.

Heat Pumps
Cold-climate heat pumps sized for your home, set above the snow line and paired with backup heat where it makes sense, plus help with Avista rebates and tax credits.

Maintenance Plans
Two scheduled tune-ups a year for your furnace, AC or heat pump, with repair discounts and priority scheduling when you need us.

Emergency HVAC Repair
Furnace out on a frozen night or AC down in a heat wave? We answer around the clock and quote in writing before any repair begins.

Furnace Installation
New gas and propane furnaces sized by load calculation, vented correctly, permitted and inspected, with the old unit removed.

Ductless Mini-Splits
Quiet wall or ceiling units that heat and cool individual rooms, ideal for additions, bonus rooms and homes heated by baseboard or wood.

Commercial HVAC
Repair, scheduled service and replacement for rooftop units, furnaces and split systems in shops, offices and small commercial buildings.

New Construction HVAC
Heating and cooling for new homes, sized from your plans, set during the build and started up and tested before you move in.
Our Habits Inside Your Home
New heating or cooling equipment stays with you for years, and it goes in where you live. These are the practices we bring to each visit.
Sized for your house, not a guess
Before suggesting a size, we measure the rooms and look at the insulation and windows. Too large a unit turns on and off constantly, makes more noise and fails sooner. The right size runs steady, quiet cycles and keeps the temperature even.
The quote comes in writing
You see the equipment, labor and any permit on a written quote before we begin. The decision is yours with everything laid out, and nothing gets added on the day unless you agree.
The same price at any hour
If your heat stops on a January night, someone picks up at any hour. A repair at 2 a.m. costs what it would at 2 p.m., because we charge no emergency or after-hours fees.
Your diagnosis fee goes toward the repair
What you pay for the diagnosis is credited to the repair. You pay for finding the problem one time only.
Careful finish work
Drop cloths go down, shoe covers go on, and outdoor units sit on level pads. Refrigerant lines run in neat covers along the siding, and we vacuum and wipe surfaces before leaving.
How a Job Runs
Most repairs follow the same path, and installations add a day or two of careful work in the middle.
- 1
Your phone call
Tell us what the system is doing, or not doing, and how old it is. We set a time that works for you, or come out right away if you have no heat or cooling.
- 2
A visit and a clear answer
We test the system, show you what we found and give you an honest repair-or-replace opinion. For new equipment, we measure the house so the size is right.
- 3
The written quote
You get the equipment, labor and permits in writing. Take your time with it.
- 4
Installation or repair day
We protect floors and walkways, remove the old equipment and set the new system level and secure. Most furnace or AC replacements are finished in a single day, and we clean up as we go.
- 5
Startup and handoff
We start the system, check temperatures and pressures, and walk you through the thermostat and filter. Then we register your manufacturer warranty before we leave.

About HVAC Fairfield
We are a heating and cooling company that works in people's homes, and we keep that in mind every time we step through a door. Our crews take the time to explain what they see, leave the mechanical room cleaner than they found it and finish line sets and wiring so they look intended, not improvised.
Long cold snaps and hot, dry summers, sometimes with wildfire smoke in August, shape what we recommend: furnaces and heat pumps that hold up through a hard freeze, air conditioners that keep pace in July, and filtration that helps on smoky days. We suggest what fits your home and your budget, and we tell you plainly when a repair is the better choice.

Common Questions
- Is there a warranty on your repairs?
- Yes. Each repair we do comes with a 1-year labor warranty. If the same work gives you trouble within that year, call us and we will return to check it.
- Do nights and weekends cost more?
- No. There are no emergency or after-hours fees. Our emergency HVAC repair runs 24/7, and you pay the same rate no matter when you call.
- How is the price set before work begins?
- We estimate installations and replacements for free. On repairs, we find the cause first, and the diagnosis charge is subtracted from the final repair bill. In both cases, you hold a written quote before we start.
- Can a heat pump handle a hard cold snap?
- Cold-climate heat pumps keep heating efficiently down into single digits and past zero. Plenty of owners add a furnace or backup heat for the harshest nights. If the Avista rebate or federal tax credit affects your budget, give us a call and we will go through that paperwork with you.
- Is my furnace worth repairing, or should I replace it?
- That depends on its age, the repair cost and how it has been running. A cracked heat exchanger or a furnace older than twenty years usually calls for replacement. A bad igniter or blower motor on a younger unit is usually worth repairing, and we will tell you which case yours is.
- What comes with a maintenance plan?
- Plans begin at $14.99 a month and cover tune-ups, discounted repairs and priority scheduling. Checking the furnace in fall and the AC in spring finds worn parts before they give out in bad weather.
- Do you also serve businesses and new homes?
- Yes. Besides homes, we take on commercial HVAC and new construction HVAC. Call us to talk about the building, the equipment you are considering and your schedule.
What Moves the Price
Every installation is priced differently, and we prefer to explain the reasons over quoting a chart. Below are the things that raise or lower a quote. Your written quote covers each one as it applies to your home.
Installation and replacement estimates are free. On repairs, the diagnostic fee counts toward the work, and in every case the written quote comes before anything starts.
- Equipment type and efficiency
- Each system has its own price. A standard gas furnace, a condensing furnace, a heat pump built for cold winters and a wall-mounted ductless unit all cost different amounts. Spending more on efficiency up front usually lowers utility bills for years.
- How big and how well built your home is
- Square footage counts, and so do insulation, window quality and drafts. A newer, tight house and an older farmhouse with the same floor area can call for very different equipment.
- Changes to wiring or venting
- A heat pump may need a new circuit or extra panel capacity. A high-efficiency furnace vents through PVC and needs a condensate drain, which an older furnace venting into a chimney did not.
- Where the equipment sits
- Working on a furnace in an open basement goes faster than in a cramped crawlspace or attic. How far apart the indoor and outdoor units are also sets how much refrigerant line we run.
- Permits and inspections
- New equipment usually requires a mechanical permit, plus an electrical one when wiring changes. We pull whatever the job needs and put it in the quote.
- Heat pump incentives
- A heat pump may qualify for an Avista rebate and a federal tax credit. We go through the forms for both with you, so the money comes back to you rather than going unclaimed.
